Marriage Licenses
MARRIAGE LICENSE INFORMATION
You may obtain a marriage license in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, in the Courthouse. There is no waiting period necessary between the issuance of the license and the marriage ceremony. You may take the license to the person who is to perform your marriage ceremony.
Indiana residents must obtain a license in the county in which one of them reside. Out of state residents must obtain a marriage license in the county in which the marriage will be performed.
Except as otherwise provided, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. A certified copy of your Birth Certificate, a valid driver's license, a state I.D. or a military I.D. must be presented for proof of age.
For residents of Indiana, the cost is $29.00 cash only. For non-residents the cost is $69.00 cash only. The total amount includes a certified copy of your license. This certified copy will be mailed to you once your license has been returned and recorded. When applying for your marriage license both parties must be present.
The marriage license expires sixty (60) days after it is issued. If the license expires you must re-apply for a new marriage license.
