  • Assist the Elected Official in the process of auditing the claims submitted by the various units of the county for correctness and appropriate spending procedures.

  • Prepare and distribute the weekly payroll including taxes, benefits and deductions.
  • Receive and post all incoming monies.
  • Maintain several different tax and grant funds for auditing purposes.
  • Prepare and maintain the annual operating budget.
  • Balance and Distribute all taxes and funds collected due to the county townships, libraries, cities, and schools.

Property Department

  • Deduction Filings: Mortgage, Homestead, Over 65, Blind, Disabled, Disabled Veteran, Enterprise Zone, Fertilizer Deduction and Geothermal.
  • Deed Transfers
  • Address Changes
  • State Utilities
  • Inheritance Tax
  • Overpayment Claims
  • Tax Sale
  • Correction of Errors/ Assessment Additional
  • Property Tax Refunds
  • Balance County Books

Mapping Department

  • Maintains Current Property Owners for Assessment and Taxation
  • Keeps Tax Maps Current
  • Maintains Subdivisions, Street Names, plits, Combinations, and Annexations
  • Maintains Aerial Plat Book
  • Keeps a Property Record History 
  • Uses AutoCAD to Maintain the GIS System
  • Transfers Deeds
  • Proofs Metes and Bounds Descriptions  
  • Processes the Change of Address Forms 
  • Determination of City and County Lots of Records
  • Certify Signatures for Petitions

Secretary to Board of Commissioners

  • Attends all Meetings of the Board
  • Collects Information for Each Meeting Agenda
  • Writes and Distributes Meeting Agendas and Minutes
  • Keeps Ledger of All Minutes
  • Handles Legal Advertising
  • Assists with necessary correspondence
  • Assists in typing documents
  • Supplies Budget and Financial Information
  • Files and Keeps Official Documents of Record for the County, such as:
  • Contracts
  • Bids and Quotes
  • Deeds/Leases
  • Debt Service Agreements
  • Vehicle Titles
  • Insurance Documents
  • Ordinances and Resolutions

Secretary to the County Council

  • Attends all Meetings of the Council
